Details! What how where and so on. That keeps the wild guesses under a bit of control.

You should add your gardening zone, state, to your sign in, questions are easier to answer if we know approximately where you are and your climate. But generally, for bush bean, wait to sow until risk of frost has passed and soil is warm....Germination is poor/slow when soil temperature is below about 60 F.

I live in the high desert of CA in zone 9 I add lots of organic material to the ground because we have lots of sand and clay.I dont know If I'm over and under watering.yesterday I dug up some of the seeds I planted and they turned to mush.

If they turned to mush they either you are way over-watering or the ground was too wet and/or cold when you planted them. Probably both. As a general rule far too many folks plant them too early so first finding out when you should actually be planting them will solve part of the problem. Learning how to take your soil temp is the easiest way to do that. 65 degree soil temp at planting depth is the ideal. Cooler and they rot. Depth of planting is also important when dealing with beans. Don't know how deep you have been planting but 1" is standard. Dave

Did you soak the seed? If they were soaked and then put into cold damp ground where they were unable to germinate they are even more likely to rot.

Hi, I've had the same problem. So I started them indoors and transferred them to bigger containers before putting them in the garden. I would suggest always after the last frost before transplanting in the garden. I always do multiple containers as some of the seeds turn to mush. Bush beans are a difficult plant until they take off.
