Luffa SEEDLINGS for students

I am looking for luffa seedlings. I tried to germinate them myself with no luck. It is a project for my summer high school class that I am teaching on utilizing the land instead of manufactured items. Is there anyone out there that can send me two or three seedlings? I and my students would really appreciate it.

Try nursery, "farmers Market" any garden club in your area.
As for germination of seed soil temp most important it should be 70-75F & takes 1`0-15 days to germinate.....

Where abouts in Iowa are you? I am trying to grow luffas this year too. I have tried growing them in the past but this is the first year I have had and seedlings come up. I live in the northeastern part of the state and if you were close by I could get some to you--I don't kow how they would do with mailing them but we could talk about it if you want. Let me know and have a good day!

Hi - This is my first year growing luffas. I used the baggie method of germinating seeds and I successfully germinated all of the luffa seeds in about 8 days. I am hardening them off as we speak. You may want to try that method it is super quick and easy! I am germinating more luffa seeds today. In fact, the majority of my seedlings this year were germinated in baggies.

A couple of baggies, some paper towel or coffee filters, a little water, and a week and you should be in business. Best wishes.
