Need advice

Hi. I ordered cherry blossom tree seeds on line thinking I could just plant them this spring when they came in. However they came in with instructions to soak them and stick them in my refrigerator for 3 months. Which means I can only plant them in August.
a. Should I try to germinate them outside in August (will they have enough time to get a solid root system before the freezing weather)
b. Pull them out of the frigerator this month? (How in the world will they know they haven't been in for 3 months?)
c. Pull them out in August and germinate them inside and wait untill next year to plant them outside.

I would follow the directions and after the 3 months in the refrigerator I would plant them in pots. It is much easier to manage germination conditions in pots. Al

Thanks Al.
Should I leave the pots indoors until next spring and then transplant them next spring? Or should I transplant them earlier?
