Vitex Seeds Maturity

Can anyone tell me when the Vitex seed fully matures within the berry of the plant, ready for harvesting? Does the berry have to dry out before harvesting the seed for planting?

I have not succeeded with Vitex seeds, but they start easily from cuttings. Al
