| Last Fall, I collected some Boston Ivy seed (which are actually dark blue berries), and sowed them in a little container, which I left outside all winter. They germinated well in the Spring, and grew rapidly. A few weeks ago I transplanted each seedling into its own little styrofoam container. Now they seem to have ceased growing, and appear to be turning reddish-purple, and to be dying. I wonder what is going wrong ? I used a commercial topsoil to pot them up, and some hibiscus seedlings that are growing in the same soil are doing well. Does anyone on this forum have any experience in growing Boston Ivy from seed ? |

| Thanks for your reply. I think you were right that the seedlings were suffering from transplant shock. They must have been rather delicate, because I transplanyed them carefully into individual litle containers. They've now recovered, and are growing vigorously. |
