There are many lists of how to start seeds and which ones need which treatment. If you do a search on gardenweb and the web in general, you will find them. A good one is:

If you want an actual book, look for Making More Plants by Druse. Used copy is fine.

(Your elderberry might do better with warm, cold, cool treatment instead of acid, and don't expect one month moist and cold to be helpful enough :))

There is ,or was, a seed germination database provided by Thompson & Morgan years ago. I printed it out, 35 pages, as it is easier to look up in a binder than on line. It is probably still on the web, a very useful tool. Al
