Squash seed question!!!

We just bought a butternut squash at the grocery store and I saved a bunch of seeds and dried them. Will they grow if I plant them this year??

I just don't know if they have to be out of the squash for a long time before they germinate, but Im going to try!

RE: Squash seed question!!!

They should germinate.

Don't even need to dry them.

I usually break up old pumpkins (some rotted, some not) and throw them in the garden. They germinate very well, don't even need to bury the seeds. Just place the seed side down on the ground with the pumpkin section on top.
