| Hi,
I have some bushes that look very similar to Red Elderberry bushes but the berries are already red and falling off so I assume they are an alder (I'm in Northern Michigan)? The bark is speckled and the berries are bright red and grow in clusters just like Elderberry.. Anyways, it makes great wildlife cover and the birds love the berries so i want to harvest some of the seeds and replant them.. My questions is, do I have to dry them out first or can I just plant the seeds now while they are red and juicy?
Below is a link to a picture Thanks for any help!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/hoosier12345/Seeds.jpg

| The leaf doesn't look right for speckled alder (alnus rugosa). If you can identify your shrub, someone here should be able to help you with the sowing suggestions. Name That Plant Forum is helpful... |
