Too late to grow from seed?

Im just wondering if its too late to flowers from seed and have them flower this year? I live in zone 5b and out first frost is around Oct 9th. The reason i asked is i found some interesting flowers i would like to try that i couldn't find before. I have no idea on the time it takes from seed to bloom so im not sure. The seeds i bought are:

Cypress Vine
Salvia "Mojito"
Calendula "Touch Of Red"
Cosmos "Double Click"
Helipterum "Timeless Rose"
Stachys lanata "Fuzzy Wuzzy"

I can grow them in containers if needed.

RE: Too late to grow from seed?

Well some may give you flowers in September and some won't germinate in the heat of July and August and some may not flower at all.

Is it too late--I'd say so, but if you want to try go ahead. If it were me I'd save them for next year and get a summers flowering from them.

With the Calendula--direct sow in early spring. They do not freeze unless there is a hard frost and they are seedlings. They will drop their seeds and come up again and again.
