Seed bombs

Howdy all,

I am getting married, and being that I am an avid gardener, I was thinking of making seed bombs for a wedding favor.

There are so many sites about different recipes and colors and whatnot, but I can't help but be critical of these things....

Most recipes call for some combo of clay and compost, or worm castings. Then you add just enough water to make it cohesive, then you let it dry.

Aren't you starting the germination process by adding the water? And then, aren't you essentially killing the germinated seed when you let it dry...leaving you with a "dud"?

I planned on using a wildflower mix native to my region.

Thanks for your input.

RE: Seed bombs

Moisture IS important for germination BUT also soil temp so if keept cool & alowed to dry should not have a problem.
