I have several quite successful marigold plants. I have also harvested many of the seeds from the buds. I noticed this morning however there are many small black seed looking things on the sidewalk under the plants. I know these aren't the marigold seeds but what are they? They look like large black grains of sand but are easily crushed with a knife blade.

ROFL. I guess the joke is on me. With further investigation I figured out that the black "seeds" are actually caterpillar poop. I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Lol! That's funny.

Do you have caterpillars on your marigolds? I wonder what kind of caterpillar that is. My petunias have had a few caterpillars this year. I try to pick them off.
