will Old Paeonia Lactiflora seeds still sprout?

i have an old seed question. a few years ago i bought some Paeonia Lactiflora (chinese peony, aka bowl of beauty i believe) seeds on Ebay. I completely forgot i had them till today. i have 5 seeds with instructions :

Place seed in moist vermiculite in plastic bag. place in warm area of the house out of the sun. when hte roots appear, move to refrigerator at (40F) for 10-12 weeks. transplant when shoots arise to warmth and sun.

I was wondering if anyone knew if these seeds would still be viable- able to plant and sprout? i realize with all seeds there's a chance of them not sprouting but would like to know if these still have a decent chance.

the seeds have been kept in a small zip lock bag and kept out of the sun till just now.

I know that seeds can stay good for a long time if kept in a stable enviorment. I have seeds that I have had for several years but I keep them in my freezer and I used some this spring and germination was excellent.

You can always try them, what will it hurt.
