| I know that when propagating from a tree fruit (i.e. peaches, pears, apples, cherries, etc) when you grow a plant from a seed, it probably won't grow true to the form of fruit. I was wondering if I plant seeds from a strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, or blackberry will it grow a plant of the same type as the fruit it came from or will it be something else like tree fruit. I know these fruits aren't grafted to rootstocks, so I'm wondering if there is still a possibility that I won't get the same type of fruit from the seeds. Anyone know the answer to this? |

| Depends on the berry. Many of the store-bought berries are hybrids, so there is no telling what the berry characteristics will be on your seed-sprouted plant. If you have purchased heirloom varieties like some small growers or farmers markets might offer, or native berries like blackberries when available, those would then come true. |
