| Has anyone else had magnolias germinate w/out stratification? I was going to try my hand at winter sowing for the first time this winter but I have some seeds that need to be kept moist w/a cold strat requirement. So, I potted my mag seeds and put them outside. They were freshly collected and sowed the same day. Now, about 3 weeks later I am finding that some (not many but some) seeds are germinating. Is this peculiar to ashe's or is this a normal occurrence? Other species that require strat are also showing signs of germinating...now what do I do w/a crop of plants germinated at the end of summer/early fall that were supposed to have waited til the spring? |
