| I know if the soil is too wet and the light isn't bright enough, that it will cause leggy seedlings.
However when I ask if hot weather can create leggy seedlings, I'm mainly referring to stuff that doesn't grow well in hot weather, that is cool weather crops. I'm wondering if since they don't grow well in hot weather, then will hot weather cause them to become leggy, and will create weak seedlings? The reason I ask is because I tried to sow some cool weather crops when it was still in mid to high 70s, as well as low to mid 80's. I know that with the exception of lettuce and spinach, even cold weather stuff needs high temperatures to germinate; however I know they don't prefer to grow in those conditions once the seedlings pop up. |
