I have a rose of sharon seed pod I got from someone. Its green, does this mean they will not grow? Is there anything I can do to maybe dry it out without it being on the tree?

RE: Rose of Sharon

a green pod usually indicates the seed are not "ripe".... not mature & therefore will/may not germinate

RE: Rose of Sharon

lily55rjw - the green seedpod will not give you ripe seeds. When they ripen, the pods turn brown & split open. If you really want seeds, send me an email--I have lots of ROS and will harvest plenty of seeds to trade or send in exchange for SASBE. Were you looking for any particular color or just want to grow ROS? They're only hardy to Z5 though--do they survive your Z4 winters?

RE: Rose of Sharon

I was just curious if you ever received my email? If not, let me know and I will resend you one! Thanks!

RE: Rose of Sharon

lily55rjw - I didn't get an email from you but I sent you one around 4:15 p.m. today. Let me know if you get it.
