I purchased some Beach Pea seeds with the idea I would grOW them as houseplants all year and plant them in the Spring. I failed to take into account the short days in the winter. Also, my window faces North.

The seeds have germinated, and just have a little green thread coming out of the, My plan is to send them to my parent's place once I get them potted. My parent's kitchen has South facing windows and florescent lights.

My questions are:
1.) How many days after sprouting do they need serious sunlight? They are sprouting fine in the light I have...I wonder if they will need more when they start to photosynthesize.
Also, when I send them to my parent's they won't get watered as consistently.
2.) When I send them to my parents, would they be better off on the porch (An unheated room made of windows, effectively an unheated greenhouse) or in the kitchen near a window (a room with with florescent lights and heating)).

I can't answer the question about the porch since I don't know what temperatures your plants can take nor what temperature the porch reaches.
