| So I have read that it is fairly easy but that is not my experience! I have seeds that have germinated and have their second/third leaves but then nothing. They just sit there without growing more. Same green color. Any ideas of why they just stopped growing? Should I just yank them and try something else or keep waiting? |

| Spinach is a cool season crop that does not de well when the temperature is in the 70's..... there is a plant " New zealand Spinach" that is a warm season plant & has a tast close to spinach give it a try... |

| Hi Safari, Sounds like your having the same trouble I use to have with my spinach. Most varieties do not grow well in the summer and winter and must be grown spring and fall months in shade for best results. There are a few varieties that can be grown in the summer with the rest of garden which include my favorite the Olympia Hyrbid Spinach plant. I also noticed that it is hard to grow single plants by themself and is much easier if you grow several plants close together to offer shade for eachother. This will help produce the best results for you. |

| safari, from your zone I would think that now would be a good time to plant the spinach. Or maybe even a couple of weeks from now. I planted some last week but haven't checked on it...been under the weather. |
