| Yeah I think this might be categorized as a dumb question - BUT I need to ask... But my seedlings, although they do have their initial adult leaves just starting and they are about 3/4" tall - they just seem awfully small to be even be touching, let a lone moving around and transplanting. They are currently in a 3" or so peat pot with Miracle Gro seedling starter soil mix. I am finding out that the peat pots are not really great for extended stays. The mold and crud that develops due to the moisture is nasty. But right now my concern is moving the seedlings into a healthier environment. But is it SAFE to move them? Or is that crud that grows on the peat pots safe for them?
any help would be greatly appreciated... -tiffany |

| Handling seedlings by their leaf is safe as long as the growing mix is loose enough to fall away and release the plant. I have never used peat pots and so do not know how difficult it would be to remove the pot from the soil instead of the soil from the pot. Al |
