You are correct calistoga. It's now 2 inches long. I can see the letter C shape of the seed shell. :)

hey v1rtu0s1ty, I was wondering how you got the calendula to sprout. isn't it really cold there? Just wondering because I really want to plant some calendula for my vegetable garden.

I couldn't believe how it was so quick. It's my first time to have a calendula seed.

Here is what I did
1. Put a soil with mixture of perlite, little peat moss, little sand, compost on a pot. I mixed it very well.

2. Put the seeds 1/4" deep then covered it again with dirt

3. wrapped the pot with a rope light

4. I moisten it every 10 hours.

After 3 days, I saw a sprout!

Now that is the funniest/fanciest setup I've yet to see!
Talk about Celebrating the beginning of life! LOL

Very creative!

Just an update folks about my calendula. I saw flower buds today. I direct sowed all my calendula seeds. They were very easy to grow similar to cosmos. Cleome was a bit more challenging but my experiment produced 99% germination.

Anyways, here is my calendula flower bud. :)
