Good flowering shrub suggestions for hot and humid?

What flowering shrubs do best in your hot, humid garden/yard?

I just moved to a new house late last summer and it has a hydrangea and two gardenias that are mature, but that's it. I'll be planting lots of azaleas, but I need suggestions for other shrubs to use as speciman plantings. I have full sun, full shade and everything in between, and would like spring blooming, summer blooming, and fall/winter interest choices.
