Bridal White Spirea (Spirea Vanhouttei) questions...

Posted by randyn Va. 7a (My Page) on

Hi all.

Can Bridal White Spirea (Spirea Vanhouttei) be propagated via cuttings?

If so, is it done via old wood/New wood? Above node/Below node? Size of cutting? Pre bloom/Post bloom? Root Tone? Best season to establish cutting?

Any or as much info would be great. I currently have 6 established plants that I want to take cuttings from and give to a neighbor. I would like to be successful on the first try.

Thanks so much!

RE: Bridal White Spirea (Spirea Vanhouttei) questions...

I wanted to get spirea starts too and stumbled across this link. I am going to try it this weekend, so I don't have any practical advice... yet.

Good luck to us both!

Here is a link that might be useful: propagating a new spirea
