Mystery Flowering Shrub/Tree

Ok, I just found a strange plant growing in my backyard. We didn't plant it and I've never seen anything like it around here before. I tried looking it up in our gardening encyclopedia but couldn't find it. I'm hoping someone here knows what it is and how best to grow it.

It was coming up in the middle of a messy clump of flox and iris and was partially obscured by a pine tree. I dug it up and potted it. It's currently sitting in an are of dappled shade under our apple tree.

The thing is really pretty and I'd hate to lose it so any help with identification and care would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like my Quawzan Cherry. It's definitely a keeper! :)
Enjoy.

Prunus glandulosa 'Sinensis'.

Thanks for the help! The flowers look remarkably like both suggestions, but going from the leaves it looks overall more like the dwarf almond than the cherry. I'm really glad to know what it is! With a name to go from I was able to find out what light/water conditions it likes best and moved it to someplace more sunny. It's producing lots of new growth so I guess it's happy. Thanks again for the help in identifing this little beauty!!!
