wow! if that flower is as blue as in the pic it's fantastic, i have never seen a blue hibicus like that

Am so well pleased with my vigorous 'Blue Bird' cultivar but saw 'Blue Satin' at a farm market last summer. It seems bluer and just superior. Will have to find a place for it. They become quite sizeable plants.

Would probably be worthwhile to plant side-by-side with 'Oiseau Bleu' ('Blue Bird') and see how they compare on the same soil, in the same climate.

I still like my Blue Satin hibiscus. And, the color of the bloom is exactly like the photo that I posted.
I have noticed though, that some of the blooms seem to have trouble opening in the late fall. The blooms seem to open better in the early summer.
I will wait and see how it will perform next year. I think it should get better with age.
I bought my Blue Satin from the Hoot Owl Nursery. They were quart size pots, and very nice plants.

The wretched things seemed to have trouble opening all summer long on Long Island.

Wow--how beautiful--and exciting--I just planted mine this year and now will take extra care of it! I just poured on some manure tea last night. Can't wait!
