Lilac not blooming

| Hello,
I have a lilac given to me transplanted from a friend's yard about 3 years ago, last year it was full of flowers; this year there are not any flowers at all. It is in full sun - does anyone have any ideas why it is not flowering?
Thank you,
Lisa |

| Lilacs need limey soil vs acidic.....add lime each year and you should have better bloom. |

| Also do not trim in the fall as the flowers are already formed and if you trim them you cut the flowers off. Trim in the summer after the plant blooms. diene |

I purchased Donald Wyman lilac 4 years ago . It looks healthy with nice leaves but it never bloomed. Any ideas? |

| never amend your soil.. unless a soil test indicates something is lacking ... ken |

My Donald Wyman lilac is in its 3rd season and has never bloomed. It has beautiful green leaves and is approximately 6 feet high. It gets morning and some afternoon sun. We are planning to move it to an open area for full sun, but I'm not sure that's going to help. Using the tip from this forum, we will lime it as well. Thanks! |
