I have several tall shrubs in my yard, my wife said that when she bought the house the previous owner told her they were dogwoods. These are not any dogwoods I have ever seen and I can't find any information to confirm that they are some odd species I'm not familiar with. Can someone please tell me what this plant is?

Here's one of mine growing wild.
Blooming now.
Does it look like this?
