| I'd like to plant a bunch of sweet olives along the fence for privacy because it's on the downslope turning 6ft into 3ft when standing 10 feet away even my dog can enjoy watching kids play at neighborhood while laying in the backyard. HOA do not allow taller than 6ft so I can't have taller fence. I'm not sure on the spacing between sweet olives and trees (shantung maple and montezuma cypress). I know there are others but I just want sweet olives because of its powerful fragrance. |

| well, in my area o. fragrans has grown to about 15' tall and 5' wide before i had to cut it down to shrub size. they tend to grow quite tall and less wide from what i have seen. once established, they grow pretty fast. if they get too close to your trees, you can prune to keep them at a manageable size. i pruned mine from 15' to 3' tall and it has regrown to that size in 10 years or less. i just put it in a bad spot for a plant that large. |

| When you say Sweet Olive are you refering to Sarccoccoca or Osmanthus? |

| Yes osmanthus fragrans. Glad to see that it doesn't get too wide as I feared but it may depend on the culitvars as it looked like from what I've seen in china. |
