Crooked trunk on photinia

I found a young photinia plant under a bush. It is about 2.5 feet tall. Since it has been growing under the bush, part of the trunk is growing at an almost 45 degree angle reaching outwards for sunlight. Can it be straightened out by staking? Thanks.

If pliant enough can tie at multiple points to get it parallel to the stake.

Thanks. I did that. The part where the bend starts is not pliant enough right now to get it parallel to the stake. Hopefully it will be eventually.
