Hello everyone. I recently made a purchase from plantspluspines off ebay. I feel i gotten the wrong tree, but it is hard for me to tell because it is dormant. I have no experience with either of these trees, so i am here asking for some help to identify it. Does a kousa have red bark when young? Any help is greatly appreciated. sorry about the picture quality.

Definitely a redtwig dogwood. Kousa is from a different section of the genus and does not look like this.

well i asked him about it and he said there was no mistake. That they keep it in a cooler at zero and the cold makes it turn red. I do not believe anything this guy says. He is a fraud. Do not buy from plantspluspines anyone.

Thanks, Jason.

Not only the color, but isn't the branching structure and texture different?

There is a kousa at my school and i compared the two. They seem quite different. I sent him the pics and he finally fessed up to it being a mistake.

Thanks for the help, Jason.
