Does anyone grow fragrant wintersweet?

Hello

I was thinking about getting one of these shrubs, and I know that they'll soon be in bloom, so I was wondering if somebody could save a couple seeds for me?? Also, any other advice on growing this plant would be much appreciated.

Thank You

RE: Does anyone grow fragrant wintersweet?

As reported in your previous post on this subject, this shrub is unlikely to survive in your climate. It is marginal in zone 6 and generally listed as reliably hardy in zone 7 and above. One website states "needs sheltered position in full sun, against a wall or within enclosure. Will not tolerate exposed, cold locations." Unless you have a pretty significant microclimate in your zone 5 garden, you may be just courting failure.

OTOH, it is easy to grow from seed although may take several years (3-7) before producing flowers. Seed ripens in May/June. Have you tried asking on the Exchange forums? I had a large shrub in my old garden but no longer have access to it or its seeds.
