Would you plant these two viburnums next to each other?

I've finally cleared the last section of a shrub border and would like to plant a couple of evergreen shrubs here. I'm considering Viburnum x pragensis (Prague viburnum) and V. 'Cree'. Will they be too similar in texture and overall look? And will they bloom at the same time(hopefully not)?

how big a space.. and is there an option to put something different in between???

in the country.. as a collector ... why not plant two.. and learn to enjoy the differences ... since i might plant them side by side.. 20 feet apart ....

in suburbia with limited space .. why have two that are so similar ... spaced 10 feet apart ...

so i dont recall your space ... so i dont know what to tell you about the wisdom of such ...

i do not know about flower timing..

at my first house.. the funeral home neighbor had 150 feet of viburnum ... it was a great.. green sight block.. and otherwise boring as heck ... and on their property ... i was glad it was there.. i was glad it was not mine.. and but for the variegated version ... i dont really see the utility of such ....

ken

heres the variegated one .. the flowers stink to high heaven.. and who knows when it flowers.. that is not the point of this one ... why would you opt for two that are similar.. :

I'm opting for these two because this last section is up at the road and I'm looking for evergreen.

They have very different leaf texture. One is kind of smooth and glossy, the other larger, more coarse, and textured. They would not look the same at all. Bloom times? I can't recall exactly, but I would bet they would be similar, which is good for fruit production. They are related.

The habit and leaf shape/size are somewhat similaar so from a far I honestly think it will be strange. Kinda like a brand new black shirt paired with faded black pants.

Upclose the texture is exactly what Kevin describes.

Why not go with a Rhodie? It will be glossier and at least brighter green. Othewise I'm not to familar with evergreen viburnums beyond these two. Viburnum Valley is a vibrunum freak so I bet you could suggest two evergreen types that will contrast more (if that is what you are trying to accomplish).
