Name this shrub ?

Is it a laurel? That would be my best guess, but I don't know enough about laurels to know for sure. This is evergreen, the picture was taken early February. It's one shrub in a row making a tall hedge. Thanks!

Prunus laurocerasus 'Schipkaensis'

A very hardy and tough broadleafed evergreen -- and a great choice for zone 7 and the Mid-Atlantic. It does need extra moisture during droughts though.

'Schipkaensis' tends to grow tall (up to maybe 8 to 10 feet) and somewhat narrow and is often used for screening and hedges. It can take shearing well.

Even after this winter it has not shown any leaf burn.

Yes: Prunus laurocerasus.
