I've found that I can never kill off scale once its established on euonymous. maybe others have had luck but if it were me, i'd wish it farewell and plant something new!

frankly... scale is impossible to control..

and that plant is not worth the time nor the cost in trying...

now.. with the damage ... JUST GET RID OF IT ...

think of it as an opportunity to put in something nice.. rather than the loss of a PITA ....

otherwise.. cut it to the ground.. treat whats left for the scale.. and see what happens ....

I third this sentiment.

Even scale on Euonymus can be controlled, and it will grow back from a stump. But I join the chorus of of Euonymus haters here and say it is not worth the trouble.
BTW if the scale is Euonymus scale and you have Pachysandra check them for this scale it likes this too.
