Did snow kill this shrub? Identification & suggestions please!

Hello everyone! I just have a quick weather-related question regarding a shrub in my front yard.

I'm not sure what type it is -- I didn't buy it but would love it if it could be identified! -- but the heavy snow this winter seems to have snapped a number of the branches.

I really don't know how to care for this shrub, other than watering it during the summer, so I was hoping to get some advice on whether I should do anything now that so much of it is broken.

Here are two pictures I snapped:

I'd appreciate any and all identifications and suggestions!! Thanks!!

Yes, it's a euonymus - looks like one of the many variegated forms of Euonymus japonicus. Like many (most) broadleaved evergreen shrubs, it can take hard pruning quite well. You can cleanly prune off the broken branches pretty much any time you want but the ideal time to prune is just as new growth starts in earnest in spring.

Other than that, this is a very tough plant that tolerates a lot of abuse and is adaptable to a lot of different growing conditions. Can be susceptible to scale in some parts of the country so keep an eye out for that.
