| This is a how to. I moved into a house with a large evergreen shrub, about 5 x 12. It took over part of the sidewalk and was generally unwanted.
Here is how I got rid of it: 1. Took its picture
I would have never guessed this would have worked. But this is the BEST way to get rid of a bush! |

| I actually came on here to find out how others got rid of unwanted gigantic bushes. We too, moved into a home that has unruly things that we don't want to continually maintain. I tried the Craigslist and Freecycle method- I got one guy willing to come out. He broke 2 shovels and got the suckers out but swore and cussed. He refused to take the rest. Hubby and I are considering the truck and rope method and dragging them down main street until they disappear from our lives completely. Ha! No , seriously we are. We are not going to have chronic back pain for the rest of our lives over these things. |

| Ken, my husband and I watched our neighbor do the same thing, only they weren't drunk! They had watched (and probably had some laughs) when my husband dug out some old shrubs in front of our home. So a few weeks later, they decided to 'show us' how to do it, lol! It was not a broken down old truck, either. Moral of story: do a LOT of digging before trying to pull that old shrub out of the ground! Take an axe to the roots, if you have to. Using a chain and a truck is best reserved for the smaller stuff. |
