why would the color of the flower.. change how its pruned???

if the latin name does not match the latin names of other types.. then maybe there are different pruning rules..

but if they are all the same plant.. meaning the first 2 latin names are the same ...

then flower color is not relevant ...

Lots of different buddleias on the market......'Orange Sceptre' is a hybrid of two relatively uncommon and somewhat less hardy species, B. stachyoides and B. tubiflora. Like other buddleias grown in mild climates (zone 8 and above), pruning is NOT a requirement, as these are often pretty evergreen plants as well as somewhat everblooming. If in marginal areas where winter dieback or damage is likely to occur, you can prune these back the same way and at the same time you would prune the common butterfly bush.
