I have a white brick house, and want some red color in a bed which get morning shade then full sun the rest of the day. It is average, but dry soil. Would you suggest a red prince Weigelia that I will keep at about 3 feet or plant a Home Run KO rose. I want a true red that will bloom a long time. Several plants will be installed behind a row of red daylilies, yews, red barberries, and low junipers at the grass edge. Thanks for all your help.

The rose will bloom for a longer period than the weigela. The coloring is closer to a true scarlet rather than the pinkier red of the weigela.

check out the link.. especially the first pic.. and describe your process for keeping it at 3 feet .. i reject your reality.. and substitute my own.. lol ... if those are your ONLY two choices.. i guess the rose is the way to go ... i find it hard to believe.. those are your only two choices ... but you have limited such by the specific question ... might want to start a new post with a pic of the house .. and suggestions ... where in MI.. i am near tecumseh, with an adrian zip code ... ken
