Arborvitae are the classic plant for this situation - not many other choices that will present that narrow profile and provide sufficient height.

If you simply can't stand the arbs, look at a few of the upright junipers. They can offer some interesting coloring - grays/blues in addition to green - provide good screening at an appropriate height and are tough, durable evergreens well suited to full sun. But most will get wider than your requirements. 'Skyrocket' juniper is the narrowest at 2-3' give or take a foot but to the layman it is pretty darn hard to tell apart from an arborvitae :-)

Thanks Gardengal48! I wouldn't have thought of the upright junipers. I just found a Blue Arrow Juniper (Juniperus virginiana 'Blue Arrow') that looks like a good fit. However maybe I should reconsider Arborvitae. Maybe a mix of American or Emerald...

Do you (or anyone) happen to know if you can trim these to keep them from getting too tall? After looking at the space I figure I should keep whatever is planted to between 10'-15', not 20+ :)
