it is a ground cover plant.. i cant think of much to do.. to encourage it to cover ground.. except give it the time it needs.. as a tree.. to get moving ...

you may.. 'guide' it anywhere you want... but i dont think that is going to make it grow faster ... just use some sticks that have fallen out of the trees to force them in the direction you want.. I WOULD NOT PRUNE THEM ...

just ignore it for a year or two ... and it will cover ground..

did yours turn purple for winter??? pic of mine in winter below.. it takes a great leap of faith.. to know it is not dead a that time of year.. lol .. in spring it turns purple ...

I've had them for at least 5 years, and I knew their color changes. It is a beautiful plant. Not trying to grow it faster. It has its own pace. i'll fun with it. Can't do it any harm.
