What goes with dwarf viburnum?

I would love to get a viburnum carlesii, dwarf variety, but I wonder what I can pair it with. Pretty much most of the pictures I see are of it by itself. Can I pair it in back with a butterfly bush, or even add it to my butterfly garden at all? Would it look right?

i have never approached a planting in this manner...

in my world.. warped as it is... i would ID the flowering season.. and either ...

plant something that fills in the non-blooming season ...

or plant something with a flower color that matches or compliments.. in the same blooming season ...

otherwise. i never thought of it.. the way you state it ...

looking right.. is in the eye of the beholder ...
