Much more restful than the neighbour's garden!

No doubt! I have way too much unbridled enthusiasm to do something like that, but appreciate looking at it very much.

Thanks everyone. My neighbors garden is horrid but he is an old old man and was recently in the hospital for 6 months he actually planted some flowers in his yard the other day i guess he was feeling bad about his garden after we planted. Hes a really sweet man so I dont make problems for him. I've included a pic of what his yard looked like last year. Its been weeded since then.

I'm kinda freaking out a bit about my boxwoods because the leaves are turning yellow and bronzey orange in places It isnt a lot but its on quite a few of the plants I think I may have overwatered them. Its also been raining the past 2 days and expected to rain for 2 more. I hope they make it. Id feel terrible if i killed them.

I just love balance and symmetry, especially in a formal garden like yours. I can imagine how much planning, expense and effort you have given this project. It looks fabulous already. Would you tell us how deep the gravel paths are, and how you built them? I am hoping to build some gravel walkways through our garden.

I enclosed a picture of the framing for the gravel. I also attached what we call antiworteldoek (root fabric or landscape fabric) along the bottom and sides of the framing. The depth of the gravel is 5cm which is roughly 2 inches. (2.54cm to an inch) The wood I used is regular treated lumber for outside. It took a cubic meter of gravel which is roughly the same as a cubic yard.
