| Interesting. I have never heard any forsythia folklore. It's such a new plant in Western Hemisphere gardens, brought from China? Japan? in the 19th century. But it is so popular and widely grown that I guess it has gathered folklore in a hurry. |

| I always heard that too but was too chicken to mention it. Actually, it was "between the forsythia bloom and the lilac bloom". And it was pre-emergent crabgrass killer, not herbicide. |
