First time home owner in Los Angeles, CA. Goal is to achieve 7-8 ft lush dense privacy hedge. I just planted about 70 (5 gallon) privet hedges that did not come with stakes. Do i need to stake them to make sure they grow straight up correctly but also want them to fill in between the gaps. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you GW. |

| if you planted them firmly in the soil.. there should be no need for a stake ... what is your native soil.. did you amend the soil.. if so .. with what... etc .. and what is your drainage .. ken |

| Hi Ken, I believe they were firmly planted into the soil. I tilled my dirt a few weeks ago and mixed some starter fertilizer from home depot. I don't believe to have any drainage. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you |
