Yellow branches...Viburnum?

Posted by beverlyr z5 Ohio (My Page) on

My mom recently passed away and I am helping my stepdad care for her gardens. She has some large shrubs lining her back fence which I cannot remember the species. They are similar in size and growth habit to her shrub lilacs. They have yellow wood/branches. I think they might be Viburnum. They are not leafed out yet. Does anyone know of a possible name that I could look up to check photos?

Thanks!

Not nearly enough info given for even a wild guess. A picture might help. A picture when they get leafed out would probably be even more helpful.

Oh, I misread part of your post...but still not really enough info to tell. Maybe one of the yellow-stemmed dogwoods, but could be many other things too.

I will try to get a picture the next time I am at her house. I didn't think anyone would be able to pinpoint the exact shrub with so little info. I was just hoping for the name a few of the most popular yellow branched shrubs so I could look up the pictures online. Thanks for the help.

Maybe I can get a picture up tomorrow.
