holly winter burn - advice pls?

Moved into a townhouse last summer and planted 2 hollies in the front of the house. The front faces west. We are in Zone 5 here - lots of snow.

Both the hollies both have winter burn and I am not sure why. Hollies do grow in this area well normally. The dryer vent and the air exchanger blow air on them - is this the problem?

Should I wrap them for winter? They are not totally brown, should I trim off the dead parts and let them regrow?

The hollies and I thank you for the help.
