Greetings. I would like to plant some shrubs beside my side fence that will grow to about a foot above the 6 ft. fence I have there to act as a screen. I would like shrubs that I can grow to look like little trees with some pretty flowers. I'd like it to be evergreen, pest and drought resistant, without invasive roots. I once had a potato shrub in my backyard and I liked the look of that. I am a real newbie when it comes to landscaping and growing. I've heard that lavender would be good. The other possibility would be some sort of vine that I could get to climb up a trellis. Do any of you have any suggestions? Thank you for any help.
