Cedar Rust on Spiraea?

I would like to plant a Vanhoutte Spiraea in my yard. Last Summer I had a problem with Cedar Rust on my young Service Berry tree. There is a Juniper bush in the next yard. It was so ugly that I got rid of the Service Berry and decided to avoid any partner host plants to the next door Juniper and presence of the Cedar Rust. I was told to avoid anything in the Apple and Rose family. I just read that Spiraea is in the Rose family. Is Spiraea susceptible to Cedar Rust? I could not find any indications online that linked the two together, even though it is in the Rose family.

I have had multiples of Spirea (Japanese and Bridal Wreath) ... and Juniper (Old Gold, Sea Green, Wichita Blue), for 10 years now, ... and I've seen no trace of Cedar Rust disease, ... although I avoided planting Crab Apples for just that reason.

if i avoided every plant that had the potential to develop some problem.. i would probably be living in an apartment ...

i have never seen a spirea with a problem.. no matter what the odds ... though i have no clue where you are ....

besides.. we arent talking about a $1000 plant here ...

if it makes you happy.. and you end up wasting ten bucks in 5 years ... so what.. be done with it...
