Juniper 'Witchita Blue' .... rust where branch intersects?

I don't have a photo. I can get one later today if I need to, I thought I would ask before I forgot. Just noticed it last week. Where lots of branches intersect it just looks rusty.

I have been thinking of getting rid of this plant, after the last time I posted about it and found out it has not proved to be a good performer for many people. This was going to be the last year I gave it to show some improvement and now this. I have decided already to get rid of it, but would still like to know what the problem is.

they are conifers.. not flowering shrubs... if it matters

google juniper tip blight ... and rust.. your choice of malady ...

i got rid of 3 of them because they were not worth the hassle

Oh, should have posted on the Conifers forum, sorry.

Ken, did you try to replace them with something similar?

RE: replacements

not telling you were to post.. just trying to teach you what they are..

i have about 500 conifers... nothing purchased specifically to replace them..

just about all junipers are worthless on some level .. so i would stay away from them ...

Ken, you didn't really think that I thought a Juniper was a flowering shrub, right? [g]

you were using SHRUB... in an overlyboead manner

conifers are also trees.. but they are not shrubs ...

shrubs are not trees ...

there are common names.. and terms of art ....

everything that is in your yard.. that is not a tree nor a perennial/annual.. is not a shrub ...

one key is in how you would prune a shrub.. a flowering shrub.. versus a conifer ...

a lot of newbies read all these posts.. so whether or not you know.. others might get a lesson
