I asked also in the houseplants section because it came in a pot with mixed houseplants.

My mother received this plant about 10yrs ago while she was ill in the hospital. I have searched high and low at sites and in books trying to find what it is. The leaves are shiny evergreen and has red berries on stems.

It grows a tuft of new leaves on top every 2 years or so over the old and kinda fills in the area every other year. It has never been trimmed or anything and keeps itself pretty compact. The roots aren't compacted or anything and this is as large as it has become in 10yrs.

Any help much appreciated.
