Potentilla fruticosa'Goldfinger'. If you transplanted them in full growth they will still need lots of water whilst establishing, even if they are drought resistant once established. They are deciduous and it is possible they have dropped their leaves through transplant shock and dehydration. I'd keep watering and hoping.

flora.. in MI.. i have had upwards of 8 inches of rain in the last 10 days ... no storms.. just nice rain ...

presuming this MI person is living in the same rain world.. more water is not the answer ...

now if they did it during those two days it was 85 ... then shock is probably it ..

Here, where we were becoming perilously close to being afloat this spring due to constant rainfall, potentillas have not been having a good time. In fact for a shrub that is pretty darn hard to kill even intentionally, they seem to be failing at a rapid rate.....just too wet.

I'd be inclined to think ken's theory of perhaps excessive water in the form of a lot of rainfall may have something to do with the plant's problems. But again, can't tell for sure w/out a pic.
